Hello, I’m Charlotte, founder of The Study Sanctuary. I hold a degree in Natural Sciences (Maths and Biology) from Lancaster University, and I’ve been tutoring GCSE students for the past year. Alongside being DBS-checked, I’ve also had training to support students with SEND needs, which has helped me adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles and challenges.

I began tutoring after realising that many students face two challenges: mastering the subjects and managing the confidence and anxiety that can significantly influence their results. Having experienced those challenges myself, I understand the importance of creating an encouraging and reassuring learning environment.

My sessions are fully personalised — I take time to understand how each student learns best, their goals, and what’s holding them back. Sometimes that means breaking down a maths problem step by step; other times, it’s offering strategies to stay calm and focused before an exam. My style is patient, supportive, and logical, helping students feel both capable and motivated.
