Welcome to The Study Sanctuary. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our tutoring services. By booking or participating in any tutoring session, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Introduction
The Study Sanctuary is a UK-based online tutoring service offering academic support to students aged 13–18. All sessions are conducted via Zoom.
By using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
2. Definitions

“Service” refers to any tutoring session, lesson, consultation, or resource provided by The Study Sanctuary.

“User,” “You,” or “Student” means the individual receiving tutoring or their parent/guardian.

“Tutor” refers to the sole service provider, representing The Study Sanctuary.

“Resources” means any documents, worksheets, recordings, or learning aids provided during or after sessions.
3. Eligibility
The Study Sanctuary is intended for students aged 13–18. Students under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to use the services.
4. Description of Services
The Study Sanctuary offers online tutoring services tailored to GCSE students. Services include:

One-on-one tutoring sessions in academic subjects aligned with UK curriculum standards.

Group sessions, where small groups of students can learn collaboratively on specific topics or revision themes.

Study skills coaching, helping students develop effective techniques for time management, note-taking, exam preparation, and independent learning.
All sessions are conducted via Zoom and led exclusively by the owner and tutor of The Study Sanctuary.
5. User Responsibilities
Users agree to:

Be respectful and punctual during sessions.

Not engage in academic dishonesty.

Aim for a quiet, distraction-free environment during online lessons.

Keep login links and access credentials confidential.
6. Booking, Payments, and Fees

Sessions are billed hourly at the rate disclosed at the time of booking.

Payments must be made in advance via the website.

You will receive confirmation and details after payment is received.
7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

You must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will not be refunded or credited unless under exceptional circumstances.

If the tutor must cancel, a full refund or rescheduling option will be offered.
8. Intellectual Property

All materials provided during or after sessions are the intellectual property of The Study Sanctuary.

You are granted a personal, non-commercial license to use the resources for your own study purposes.

You may not copy, share, distribute, sell, or modify any materials provided by The Study Sanctuary.
9. Limitation of Liability

The Study Sanctuary will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including exam results, university placement outcomes, or technical issues during sessions.

While every effort is made to support academic progress, results are not guaranteed.
10. Disclaimers

All services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

The Study Sanctuary may temporarily suspend sessions for maintenance, illness, or technical issues.
11. Privacy and Data

We collect only the data necessary to manage bookings and deliver tutoring (e.g., name, contact info, subject needs).

No sessions are recorded unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.

Your data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR.
12. Third-Party Services

Zoom is used for video conferencing. By using our services, you also agree to Zoom’s terms of service and privacy policy.
13. Termination

The Study Sanctuary reserves the right to refuse service or end tutoring for breaches of these Terms, such as disrespectful behaviour or misuse of resources.
14. Changes to These Terms

Terms may be updated occasionally. You will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of the service implies acceptance of the new terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.
